Electronic System Integration
Viewing the cockpit module as an integrated component requires a new way of distributing intelligent functionality. Our CESAR concept features E/E architecture with two servers and multiple clients. This server-server-client approach makes it possible for developers to work in a real-world server environment from day one, based on standard interfaces.
All electronic devices are connected via the CESAR CAN bus to one of the two servers, which communicate with the smaller clients for display and control purposes. Real-time functions that stay with the vehicle until end of life are thus kept separate from less permanent multimedia electronics.
The Real Time Server (RTS) can be used as the main interface for data exchange also with the multimedia server, thanks to AUTOSAR-compliant software. The dual-server architecture offers huge benefits by keeping local intelligence to a minimum and focusing on maximum server functionality.
