BIOGRAPHY: Mike Crane
Director of Gasoline Systems, Siemens VDO
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., April 16, 2007
Mike Crane is Director of Siemens VDO's Powertrain Business Unit's Gasoline Systems division and is responsible for overseeing its North American engineering and business development activities. Crane also serves as the Powertrain - Gasoline Systems Customer Segment Manager responsible for servicing DaimlerChrysler and General Motors customers in the North American market, as well as coordinating the division's regional technology roadmap and direct injection activities.
Prior to working at Siemens VDO, Crane held various positions with General Motors Corp., Southwest Research Institute and Eaton Corp., where his engineering and business unit responsibilities covered the light-duty gasoline, alternative fuels and heavy-duty gasoline diesel markets. He acquired his powertrain, Engine Management Systems (EMS) and components knowledge by managing projects focused on base engine and aftertreatment methods to improve fuel economy and emissions.
Crane received a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University. He earned a Master of Business Administration from Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago, Ill.
