Yaw Rate Sensor & IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit)

The characteristics of driving stability or navigation systems are improved by using our yaw rate sensor module. The sensor is used to measure the rotation of the vehicle about its vertical axis. When used in combination with an ESP system, critical driving situations can be recognized quickly, reducing the skidding hazard by activating the brakes in time. The innovative Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) measures the movements of the vehicle about the longitudinal, lateral and vertical axes and can replace a number of sensors, e.g. in the navigation system. This means reduced costs for vehicle manufacturers in no less than three ways: reduction in the number of components, reduced design space requirements and improved system characteristics on the basis of sensor networking.
