Body Control Units

The heart of vehicle electronics

Body control units are controllers that integrate several functions into one housing. Depending on the vehicle architecture, there are a variety of body control units.

Installed in the engine compartment, they control, for example, the lights, function indicators and the windshield wash/wipe system. Installed in the trunk, they are responsible for the tail lights, antenna raise/ lower, rear windscreen wiper and door closing assist.

Central body control units are used to bundle the control of door locking systems, immobilizer, air conditioning system, and tire pressure monitor. Other variants are door and roof control units. The body control units are of modular configuration, scalable and enable a high level of function integration. Incorporated into an overall vehicle electronics architecture, they reduce the number of plug connectors and wiring harnesses, offering maximum reliability and economy.
