Piezo Common Rail
Highly flexible
Our piezo-actuated injectors allow the fuel to be spread across as many as seven separate injections. The pilot injections primarily serve to ensure an even increase in pressure in the combustion chamber, thereby reducing the noise of combustion. The post-injections are used for exhaust gas aftertreatment, burning off soot particles within the engine, and supporting particulate filter regeneration.
Our injectors have up to ten nozzle holes with a diameter of less than 0.1 millimeters, allowing extremely fine atomization of the fuel for a better mixture with air. The demand-driven pump enables fuel pressures of up to 1650 bar and boasts efficiency that can reach 95 percent. Our high-performance control unit with its 32-bit controller, based on the EMS 2 platform, exploits all the synergies of our extensive experience in gasoline engines.
