Tire IQ is an advanced Intelligent Tire System featuring bidirectional LF communicationand battery-free tire integrated sensors. Developed in cooperation with Goodyear and compatible with tires from all tire manufacturers, the Tire IQ architecture is capable of supporting safety relevant functions.
System Concept
Tire mounted IQ rings include a tire unit and a 360° antenna ensuring the bidirectional transponder communication (LF). When required by the ECU, a transceiver located in each wheel-well requests the needed information from the tire unit. The tire unit answers the request by sending the data back to the transceiver. The information is processed in the integrated or dedicated ECU and then displayed on the Tire IQ information screen.
